Setting goals is simple, but to complete the goals takes determination. Have to have the ambition and the right mindset. Here is where it helped me to complete my goals > Add value to social networking at http://determined2.com where members can more effectively work on lifestyle and resolutions
Success is up to you to complete your goals in life.
Great question.
Goal setting is easy & impossible. Easy to declare “I’d like to…” or “I intend to…” Lots of lists of end states of big goals.
Also easy to declare tactical “to do” lists — what do I need to check off over the next few days. Sometimes I even deliver on them. It is always interesting to discover a dated “to do list”, reflect on what wasn’t done, and whether or not it matters.
What I haven’t been able to crack the code on, and I’m mindful it the gap is motivation and focus not magic, is making the link between long and short term.
Two challenges:
- Creating a clear set of next steps / milestones to move from current to desired long-term end state
- Avoiding the “tyranny of the urgent” that causes existing priorities to be cast aside for the new pressing matter (or interesting distraction)
